I’m a Peabody Award nominated podcast producer based in Brooklyn. Most recently I was a Senior Producer at Transmitter Media, and Producer for Call Your Girlfriend. I’m currently looking for short term or part time freelance production work.
With Transmitter, I produced Finding Fred hosted by Carvell Wallace, which The Atlantic named the #1 podcast of 2019 and was nominated for a Peabody Award. I produced two seasons of Rebel Eaters Club, Transmitter’s first original podcast about breaking up with diet culture, which was nominated for a Webby. I led production on Close to Death, an award-winning comedy podcast that profiles people who spend every day working with the dead and dying. I also led production on a forthcoming original series that explores and celebrates mysteries in Black culture. And I produced Election 101 with CNN Audio, which offered a weekly breakdown of the electoral process during the 2020 presidential election.
At Call Your Girlfriend, I’m proud of episodes I produced about sex work, police abolition, adult sex education, and the importance of the census. I made my on-mic debut in our winter 2020 books episode, and helped produce the Shine Theory live tour in fall 2019.
I previously worked with Al Jazeera’s Jetty Studios producing three groundbreaking podcasts: the internationally focused Game of Our Lives, Jetty’s award-winning debut show Closer Than They Appear, and a unique weekly international news podcast, The Take. I have also produced work with Gimlet Creative, and was an AIR 2018 New Voices Fellow.
Prior to my work in audio, I worked for the documentary filmmaking company Citizen Film, where I helped execute the public engagement campaign for a nationally broadcast PBS film, American Creed.
I grew up in North Carolina and earned Bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Anthropology from UNC Chapel Hill.
I’m always open to opportunities and collaborations! Email me any time at jordanmariebailey@gmail.com.
